About School Based Health Center - South High
Located inside South Hagerstown High School, this School-Based Health Center provides convenient access to healthcare without students having to leave campus.
Students can receive care from a licensed physician or nurse practitioner and a registered nurse during the school day.
Services include:
- Treatment for common illnesses and minor injuries
- Well-child visits
- Sports physicals
- Management of chronic conditions such as asthma and allergies
- Preventive health screenings and education
- Coordination of care with your child's primary care provider

Services Available
School Based Health Centers
Meritus Health School-Based Health Centers are health clinics located within Western Heights Middle School and South Hagerstown High School. Students can receive on-site health care provided by a licensed physician/nurse practitioner and a nurse. Services are available for any student regardless of income, insurance status or ability to pay, but students must be enrolled to receive services. Enrollment is easy and care is coordinated with your child's current practitioner.

Your child may be seen and treated during school hours for common illnesses such as:
- Sore throat/strep
- Ear Aches/Infections
- Colds/Bronchitis
- Asthma
- Allergies/Eye Irritation
- Skin Rash
- Poison Ivy
- Urinary Tract Infection
Our School-Based Health Centers also offer:
- Well child checkups
- Sports physicals
Consent from a parent or guardian is required before scheduling an appointment. Medication may be administered or prescribed as needed.
