JOHN R MARSH CANCER CENTER

The John R. Marsh Cancer Center provides our community with expert cancer care, close to home. Our state-of-the-art facility offers patients advanced treatments and technology without the need to travel. Our mission is to heal our patients while helping them continue to live their lives to the fullest.

Patients will receive coordinated cancer care. Screenings, diagnosis, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatments and rehabilitation are all coordinated with a team of experts. Our patients are assigned to a nurse navigator who guides them through their cancer journey, from diagnosis, to treatment plans, to scheduling appointments and connecting them with resources.

Does Meritus Health offer free breast cancer screenings?

Yes, we offer a free initial appointment with an attending and a resident physician for a breast screening and to order necessary imaging (screening mammogram, breast ultrasound, breast MRI). Free appointment for imaging ordered.

Program requirements:

Uninsured or only have Meritus Financial Assistance
Live in Washington County
Have breast-related complaint (18 years and older)
Need routine breast cancer screening (ages 40-75 years)

This program is offered once a month in Robinwood Professional Center, purple entrance, suite 200. Call 301-714-4400 option 6 to schedule the next available appointment.

Do you offer survivorship or support groups for cancer patients?

Yes, Meritus Health has several support programs for our patients and community. See below for more details:

Look Good Feel Better - Look Good Feel Better Workshops provide live instruction, tips, and tricks
for dealing with visible side effects of cancer treatment. Look Good Feel Better volunteer beauty professionals lead in-person workshops to provide you with tips and tools for:
• Skin and nail care and makeup application
• Wig selection and care
• Scarves, turbans, and hats

Workshops are free of charge and open to all women with cancer who are undergoing treatment.
