Dr. Jamal received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. Dr. Jamal is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
