Meritus Medical Center earns Full Transparency Badge from Leapfrog

Meritus Medical Center has earned the Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge, recognizing the hospital's commitment to publicly reporting information about patient safety and quality through the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey.

The Full Transparency Badge is awarded to hospitals that complete, affirm and submit all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, one of the nation's leading voluntary reporting programs focused on patient safety, quality and transparency.

“We strive to keep our patients and their families informed every step of the way while they are being treated at Meritus Medical Center,” said Carrie Adams, president of the hospital. “So our completing all sections of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey is just a continuation of that commitment we make to our community.”

Meritus has received seven straight “A” Health Safety Grades from Leapfrog, making it a “Straight A” medical center. That designation is given to hospitals that have an A for the most recent grading period, Spring 2026, and have sustained that grade for the last five or more grading rounds.

Meritus is in the top 5 percent of participating hospitals nationwide that have achieved seven straight top grades. Out of only 46 hospitals in the country to hit this milestone, Meritus is one of just two in the entire state of Maryland to earn seven in a row. The hospital earned its first “A” grade in the spring of 2023.

The Leapfrog Full Transparency Badge appears on Leapfrog's public ratings website and identifies hospitals that have committed to openly sharing information about their performance.
