The anticipation of a new baby brings unimagined joy and wonder, and new decisions. One of the most important decisions you will make is where to have your baby. At Meritus Medical Center, we know how special the birth of your baby is to you. We also know that moms-to-be expect expert medical care, compassionate nursing, and a family-centered environment.

Throughout your pregnancy, we are here to provide you with all the necessary resources, information, and guidance that you will need.

Prenatal Care

Prenatal care helps you and your baby remain healthy throughout your pregnancy. Our OB/GYN physicians are board certified in obstetrics and gynecology so patients can feel confident that they are receiving the best care. Along with our doctors, our nurse midwives and advanced practice nurses offer expectant mothers medical care, education, and counseling.

On-Going Educational Classes

We are committed to providing outstanding care for the families that choose to deliver at Meritus Medical Center, and that commitment starts well before labor begins. Meritus Health offers a variety of classes designed to prepare and empower patients and their families including tours of the Family Birthing Center, childbirth preparation and breastfeeding classes.

Delivering Your Baby

At Meritus Medical Center the birthing experience is a celebration-not just a medical procedure. That is why nearly 2,000 babies are born each year in our Family Birthing Center. Our obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, midwives, and nurses are available twenty-four hours for routine and preterm deliveries. Should the unexpected happen, and your baby arrives early or has a medical condition, our Level II Special Care Nursery cares for babies born as early as 32 weeks, eliminating the need to travel outside of the area and separate your baby from its family.

Lactation Consultants

Many of our nursing professionals are parents too. They understand the uniqueness of each birth and approach the experience with a caring touch. Our board-certified lactation consultants are eager to support you through your breastfeeding experience and offer variations that are right for you and your family. Pediatricians are experts in the health and well-being of infants through children in their adolescent years. With more than 25 board-certified pediatricians to choose from, Meritus Health gives you peace of mind knowing that your newborn will be expertly cared for from the moment your baby is born.
