Meritus Health President & CEO Maulik Joshi Appointed to Health Services Cost Review Commission by Governor

Maulik Joshi, Dr.P.H., president and chief executive officer of Meritus Health, was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC).

Joshi will be one of seven commissioners in the group. HSCRC is the rate-setting authority to more than 50 hospitals in Maryland, with regulated revenue in excess of $16 billion annually. Maryland is the only state to utilize an all-payer, total cost of care model to set rates for hospital services.

Joshi has more than 29 years of health care executive experience. He has a doctorate in public health, is adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and has co-authored books and journal articles on various topics including health care quality, equity, policy and transformation.
