Director of Patient Advocacy Role Filled

Carolyn Carder, M.B.A., BS, has accepted the role of director of patient advocacy. Ms. Carder began her career as a phlebotomist and medical technologist at Washington County Hospital, prior to moving into a supervisor position for transfusion services and later as a manager of lab services. She then moved to the patient advocacy department where she has remained for the past 12 years. Ms. Carder earned her master’s in business administration from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md., and is a member of the Beryl Institute which focuses on the patient experience. Ms. Carder reports to Eileen Jaskuta, vice president of quality management.
