Psychiatry Residents

Crist Cuffee, D.O. graduated from Des Moines University in May 2025. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Crist also spent part of his youth in Maryland while his father was stationed at Fort Ritchie. His experiences serving in the U.S. Army and working with the Indian Health Service during the COVID-19 pandemic were pivotal in shaping his commitment to a career in medicine. He is proud to be a member of the inaugural Psychiatry residency class at Meritus and was drawn to the program for its community-focused approach and the unique opportunity to serve a tri-state population within a rural training setting. Crist’s clinical interests include addiction and PTSD. As a Veteran and recipient of a Veteran Affairs HPSP scholarship, he is especially committed to advancing care for fellow service members by offering cutting-edge treatments and advocating for patient-centered, informed consent practices. Outside of medicine, Crist is an avid gamer, board game enthusiast, and escape room aficionado. He enjoys staying active at the gym and is currently refining his cheesecake recipe. He looks forward to exploring the local area with his partner and their two dogs.

Claudia Jensen, D.O. graduated from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2025. She holds dual undergraduate degrees—a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences—from the University of South Florida. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Claudia moved to Virginia to pursue her medical education and continues to bring a passion for holistic, patient-centered care to her work in medicine.

Ramya Kolagani, M.D. earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in May 2025. A proud Maryland native, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. Ramya has a wide range of interests outside of medicine, including painting, knitting, playing the guitar, cooking, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and beloved dog. She is thrilled to join Meritus as a member of its inaugural class of Psychiatry residents and is eager to contribute to the dynamic and meaningful work within the field of Psychiatry.

Judy Lau, M.D. earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During her medical training, Judy was dedicated to volunteer work, including supporting survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones at a hotline, as well as providing care at a free clinic for the underserved population of St. Louis. She is committed to delivering equitable, high-quality care to all patients and strives to make a positive impact in the lives of those she serves. Outside of her professional endeavors, Judy enjoys drawing and baking, finding joy and relaxation in her creative outlets.
