Amy Rost, D.O.

Class of 2026

Amy Rost, D.O. is a 2018 graduate of Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she completed the Global Health Honors Track and served as the chapter president of DOCare International. She is originally from a farming community in rural Missouri and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Drury University. Prior to medical school, Dr. Rost worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in Missouri and a volunteer in South Africa and Guatemala, to which she returned several times during her medical training. In 2019, Dr. Rost completed a transitional year at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in New Mexico, where she volunteered in the Medical Reserve Corps. She then completed two surgical preliminary years with an initial goal of pursuing a career as a surgeon.  During her surgical training, Dr. Rost found that she missed providing comprehensive care for her patients and transitioned to a career in family medicine.  Dr. Rost comes to Meritus with experience working as a house physician in both the surgery and medicine departments at Staten Island University Hospital.  She uses her medical training to care for the most vulnerable and is looking forward to volunteering in our Washington County Community.  She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family and her rescue dog.

Uvindu “Uvi” Wanniachchige, D.O.

Class of 2026

Uvindu “Uvi” Wanniachchige, D.O., M.M.S. is a 2023 graduate of Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also received his master's in biomedical sciences, graduating magna cum laude.  He completed a bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and is originally from Sri Lanka, though he now calls Fairfax, Virginia home. As the son of immigrant parents, Dr. Wanniachchige understands the language, financial and educational barriers that many people face in receiving high quality healthcare.  Having worked with children early on in his life, he was inspired to consider medicine as a career. He later worked as a scribe in orthopedic surgery and as a medical assistant in a busy dermatology practice before completing medical school.  Dr. Wanniachchige values the importance of teamwork and believes that respect for peers, nurses and staff is foundational for high quality care. He approaches his patients with kindness, humor, active listening and acceptance to create a space of trust. In addition to his medical practice, he enjoys sports and cooking for friends and family.

Patrick Sweet, M.D.

Class of 2026

Patrick Sweet, M.D. received his medical degree in 2022 from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Morgan State University.  He is originally from Baltimore, Md. In his work for Baltimore County Social Services prior to medical school, he witnessed the life-changing effect healthcare access could have for families; this helped motivate him to pursue his own career as a physician. Along this journey, Dr. Sweet has been a tireless advocate for underrepresented minorities and disadvantaged youth.  His vast experiences span volunteering as a high school mentor and summer camp counselor, a rural free-clinic coordinator, assistant high school wrestling coach, tutor, teaching assistant and Student National Medical Association representative.  Dr. Sweet believes that once access to care is secured, culturally and socially competent healthcare can transform people’s lives. He is a Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoys staying physically fit, cooking, and reading science fiction.

Paige Cobb, M.D.

Class of 2026

Paige Cobb, M.D. received her medical degree in 2023 from Albany Medical College and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Siena College in New York. Her hometown is Laytonsville, Md. It was Dr. Cobb’s experiences in Kolkata, India volunteering with the elderly and orphaned and abandoned children that coalesced her deep desire to pursue primary care medicine as a career.  In medical school, Dr. Cobb co-lead the family medicine interest group and served as New York state student delegate to the AAFP.  She volunteered regularly as staff in a student-run free clinic, as a facilitator for a diabetes education group, and with infants and children in need.  Dr. Cobb enjoys connecting deeply with her patients and is motivated to serve to those overlooked in our society. She seeks to amplify the voices of her patients and be their advocate. She is also passionate about women’s and children’s health. Outside of medicine, Dr. Cobb enjoys running, reading and baking.

Justin Brandt, D.O.

Class of 2026

Justin Brandt, D.O. is a 2023 graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Westminster College in Pennsylvania and is originally from Ellicott City, Maryland. Dr. Brandt spent years as a weekend volunteer distributing meals to homeless community members in Baltimore and Glen Burnie. Whether sharing his love for athletics by coaching youth soccer or spending quiet time outside hiking and kayaking, he focuses on improving himself and the lives of those around him. Dr. Brandt believes that through self-reflection, hard work and gratitude we can improve our communities and deliver highly compassionate care.
