We screen candidate's applications before inviting individuals to schedule interviews, and we participate in the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). After screening, we will offer interviews to candidates whose abilities, personal interests and needs best match Meritus' philosophy and curriculum. Interviews begin in early October, and are conducted through the end of January each year.

Medical Student Rotations

Thank you for your interest in the Meritus Family Medicine residency program. We are accepting a limited number of applications for rotations from fourth year medical students. A national work group has shared recommendations regarding the upcoming interview season. With the challenges of COVID-19 it will be a difficult season for us all, and in particular for traveling and interviewing. At a national level, there are clear guidelines about away and ”interview” rotations. If a medical student is unable to complete a rotation in their desired specialty (Family Medicine in this case) at their home institution they can seek to participate in an away rotation in that specialty.

We want to honor the recommendations of this multispecialty work group and want students to be treated as fairly as possible. We are therefore inquiring as to whether or not you have access to a Family Medicine rotation at your home institution? Please let us know about your circumstances as we want to be accommodating to your needs. We are considering alternative arrangements if in-person clerkships are not possible. If you are interested and meet the above qualifications please complete the application on our website and submit to

Complete applications consist of all of the following:

  • A Dean’s letter of recommendation
  • A transcript of medical school course work
  • Completed application forms
  • Three letters of recommendation from clinical faculty

Each year the core program has 6 spots.
