Our Team

Whether it is the concern for cancer or a diagnosis, you want the best possible outcome. Our board certified physicians bring years of experience, academic achievements and national research to our community. Our multidisciplinary care team at the John R. Marsh Cancer Center consists of board-certified surgeons, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and nurses and rehabilitation therapists.

Dan Cornell, M.D., Director of Radiation Oncology

Dr. Cornell earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore and held a transitional internship at Montefiore University Hospital in Pittsburgh. He completed a residency in radiation oncology at Georgetown University Hospital in the District of Columbia.

Edward Jung, M.D.

Dr. Jung has conducted oncology research at the National Institutes of Health and earned his medical degree from Brown Medical School in Providence, RI. He completed his internship at Washington Hospital Center in DC, and his radiation oncology residency training in his home state of Michigan at Wayne State University in Detroit. Afterwards, he pursued a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic focusing on stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy. Dr. Jung is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He has multiple peer-reviewed journal articles published in the literature and has authored textbook chapters in radiation oncology. He is an expert in CNS and prostate cancers, as well as radiosurgery.

Michael McCormack, M.D.

Dr. McCormack earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in the District of Columbia and completed a residency in internal medicine at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Conn. He completed his specialty in oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Frederic H. Kass III, M.D., FACP, Medical Director, John R. Marsh Cancer Center

Dr. Kass received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in the District of Columbia. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. and completed a fellowship in hematology-medical oncology at the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Kass has served as medical director for the John R. Marsh Cancer Center since 1996.

Victoria Giffi, M.D.

Dr. Giffi earned her medical degree from University of Maryland in Baltimore, Md., where she also completed her residency. She has finished a 3-year fellowship at the Marlene & Stewart Greenbaum Cancer Center. Dr. Giffi is board certified in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine and board eligible in medical oncology and hematology.

Kerri Hesley, M.D., Medical Director, Center for Breast Health

Dr. Hesley received her medical degree at the University of Texas in Galveston, Texas and completed her residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, University of Texas in Dallas and the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va. She went on to complete a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at Baylor University in Dallas. Dr. Hesley is board certified in radiology.

Stephen M. Sachs, M.D., FACS

Stephen Sachs, M.D., earned his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., and completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He completed a fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., and is board certified in both general and vascular surgery with the American Board of Surgery.

Kristy C. Hose, M.S.N., ANP-BC, nurse practitioner

Kristy Hose is a nurse practitioner with more than 17 years of patient care experience, with 5 of those years spent caring for patients with cancer. She is a board certified adult nurse practitioner. Kristy focuses on holistic care and providing comprehensive, personalized care to her patients. She specializes in high risk assessment for female cancer and has been instrumental in the creation of the high risk program at Meritus. Kristy recently completed the intensive course in cancer risk assessment through City of Hope – Division of Clinical Cancer Genetics.

Tara Reed, RN, OCN, clinical nurse navigator

Tara Reed is an oncology certified registered nurse and a valuable resource for you and your family, providing support, comfort, education and advice. Tara brings more than ten years of experience caring for cancer patients. Tara received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa.

Neil Rosenshein, M.D., FACOG, Medical Director, Meritus Gynecologic Oncology Center

Dr. Rosenshein, a gynecologic oncologist, earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Fla., and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. He completed fellowships in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, N.Y., and at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. During Dr. Rosenshein’s extensive career, he has authored books, published articles, conducted medical research and won numerous awards. For 15 years, he served as the director of gynecologic oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Known nationally and locally as a champion of women’s health, his passion is to educate women outside major urban areas about ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancer. Dr. Rosenshein’s area of interest includes complex gynecologic surgery, ovarian, cervical and uterine cancers
