We complete a pre-procedure evaluation interview where you can ask questions and our team can ask important questions about your medical history that could impact the operation. Our knowledgeable team is available to help you prepare for surgery and set up advance directives. Advance directives are instructions for your care team that will let them know your wishes in the event that you are unable to answer questions while sedated.
We Are Equipped with State-of-the-Art Technology
Advanced surgical technology is increasingly becoming the standard of care
for some procedures, especially those that fall into the minimally invasive
category. Training on the kind of equipment that allows for major surgery
through tiny incisions is standard now in most surgical training programs.
Meritus Medical Center utilizes the da Vinci XI® and ROSA® to
perform some of its minimally invasive surgeries. Robotic technology offers
surgical patients less pain, quicker healing time and enhanced recovery
from their procedures. Robotics assisted surgery is performed in six specialty
areas, including gynecologic, general, bariatric, urological, orthopaedic
and thoracic. Because of the smaller incisions, patients often require
reduced use of narcotics and are home sooner from the hospital than was
possible in the past. All of this leads to better patient satisfaction.
Additionally, fourteen state-of-the-art operating rooms offer video integration, the latest technology in surgical tables and a suspended boom system which holds equipment and cords allowing a more safe and sterile environment for patients and staff. An advanced audiovisual system lets surgeons consult with pathology and the emergency department trauma rooms, reducing the time it takes to reach a diagnosis, as well as patient surgery times.
