You Are the Center of the Team
Through our multidisciplinary care conferences, surgical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and nurses work together to provide a comprehensive treatment plan best suited for each patient. Specific to the patient, the type of cancer, and its progression, the multidisciplinary care conference discusses each patient’s case and the appropriate treatment methodology. This integrated approach results in a seamless and expedited patient care experience.
The John R. Marsh Cancer Center also offers a multidisciplinary breast clinic. This clinic allows patients to meet with their surgeon, radiation and medical oncologists in a combined appointment right after diagnosis to review their treatment options.
To help patients gain access to care, the John R. Marsh Cancer Center uses nurse navigators to assist patients at all stages of cancer care, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and survivorship. As a patient’s partner, the nurse navigator acts as a resource and coordinator, and helps patients participate in follow-up appointments and screenings. The John R. Marsh Cancer Center has several nurse navigators dedicated to specific types of cancer. All patients are offered navigation services.
