Life After Bariatric Surgery

After surgery, there will be a lot of positive changes to your health and improvements to obesity related conditions. You will need to follow up with your Primary Care Provider to make changes to your medications for conditions like hypertension or diabetes. You may need changes or even discontinuation of your CPAP machine if you have Sleep Apnea. You will be expected to follow a specific nutrition protocol. You will need to supplement your diet with protein shakes and vitamin and mineral supplements. Regular physical activity will also be encouraged. Long term follow care is needed to best manage Obesity and after your initial weight loss, the Meritus Bariatric Surgical Specialists will see you on a yearly basis.
