Hugo Bonatti, M.D.
Dr. Bonatti is a professor of surgery and board certified in general surgery with the American Board of Surgery. He received his medical degree from the Innsbruck Medical University in Austria and completed his surgical residency at Vanderbilt Medical University in Nashville, Tenn. Dr. Bonatti received fellowship trainings in transplant surgery in London, surgical critical care at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in Baltimore, Md.
Mohammad Jamal, M.D., FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Jamal received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Until recently, he was in academic surgery and an associate professor of surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Jamal is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr Jamal is the Medical Director of our program and a MBSAQIP verified surgeon.
Aboubakr M. Khairat, M.D., FACS, M.B.B.Ch.
Dr. Khairat earned his medical degree in medicine and surgery (MBBCh) from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. Dr. Khairat is American board certified in general surgery.
