Meritus Visitor Information

To help maintain health in our community and prevent further spread of the flu, the following visitor restrictions are effective Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020:

  • Please do NOT visit the hospital if you have symptoms of the flu – fever, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, cough.
  • Patients may have two visitors only, age 12 or older only, who do not have symptoms of flu.
  • Children younger than age 12 are restricted from visiting patients at the hospital. End-of-life and emergency care cases will be handled individually. If you are a patient or visitor who must be here in these instances and you have flu symptoms, you will be asked to wear a mask.
  • Birthing tours of the women’s and children’s area are on hold while these visitor restrictions are in place.
  • Meritus Medical Center’s policy also reserves hospital employees the right to ask any visitor who has symptoms of illness to leave for the best interest of all involved.

For the protection of you and those around you:

  • Please cover your coughs and sneezes and properly dispose of used tissues.
  • Please wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer in between washings.

Normal Visitation Policy

Meritus Medical Center allows visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our main entrance is open between the hours of 5:00 am and 8:00 pm daily. If you need to visit a patient outside the main lobby hours, please use our Emergency Department entrance.

Visitors wishing to visit the women and children's unit on the Family Birthing Center will need to bring a photo ID.

Visiting hours for inpatient behavioral health services are limited to the times listed below.

Monday–Friday, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Saturday–Sunday, 1:00pm - 3:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Please note that the human resources department is open between 7:30am and 4:00pm on weekdays.

Meritus Medical Center Security Measures

To help ensure the safety of all, please be prepared for these changes as you access the hospital:

  • Photo I.D. required at entry for patients and visitors ages 16 and older
  • Visitor badge provided at entry
  • Metal detection screening at entry
  • Employees - Badge should be visible

Free Wifi

A wireless network named "MH Guest" is available for use throughout the hospital. To access MH Guest, connect your wireless device to the network, then open an internet browser and read and agree to the terms and conditions. There is no charge to patients or visitors for internet access.

Dining Options

Visitors to the hospital and Robinwood Professional Center have several dining options. Major credit cards are accepted in all dining areas. Dining gift certificates are available from the cashiers in the Robin’s Cove and hospital cashier.

  • Robin’s Cove – The Robin’s Cove is the Meritus Medical Center cafeteria. Located on the first floor, The Robin’s Cove is open daily from 6:00am - 2:00am.
  • Coffee Kiosk – The Coffee Kiosk is located on the second floor of the medical center and is open from 6:30am - 4:00pm, Monday- Friday. Snacks, fresh-brewed coffee, and specialty drinks are available.
