Dr. Okuwobi is a family physician and clinical faculty member at the Meritus Family Medicine Residency Program. He received his medical degree from Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria and completed his residency in family medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. During his last year of residency, he served as chief resident. Dr. Okuwobi taught as an assistant professor of family medicine and served as the pre-doctoral director of the family medicine department at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. From there, he established a family medicine practice in Decatur, Ga., and served as president and medical director. In 2010, he joined Johns Hopkins Community Physicians in Rockville, Md. as the office medical director until he joined the Meritus Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Okuwobi has a master of business administration in health services management from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He is also a member and fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and is board certified in family medicine.
