As COVID-19 Needs Change, Meritus Health to Reduce Drive-Thru Screening Center Hours
Beginning Sunday, March 13, Meritus Health’s COVID-19 drive-thru screening center will reduce hours of operation to Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day. The center will no longer be open for COVID-19 testing behind Meritus Medical Plaza, 13620 Crayton Blvd., on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday.
“As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the community continue to descend, Meritus Health’s response will adjust to meet all of health care needs among the population,” said Carrie Adams, chief operating officer of Meritus Medical Center. “We have always prioritized easy access for anyone in need of a COVID-19 test and will continue to provide these services in an effective and efficient way for this evolving pandemic.”
The Meritus COVID-19 drive-thru screening center has been testing an average of about 125-130 patients on weekdays now and less than 100 on weekend days. This is compared to as many as nearly 1,000 on peak days of traffic during surges of the virus in the community.
Patients being tested prior to having a surgical procedure will continue to be directed to the Meritus Medical Laboratory located at 247 Eastern Blvd. North. Patients should come in with their provider’s order anytime between 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday.
