Press Releases

As part of its continuing mission to meet the care needs of the community, Meritus Health is expanding its services, adding orthopedic specialists and expanding physical therapy services. Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, Robinwood, officially became Meritus Robinwood Orthopedics when it joined the Meritus Health team.

“While a lot of focus this year has been our continued efforts to support the public health needs of the pandemic, we’ve not stopped assessing and considering all of the other crucial elements related to the care needs of our community members,” said Dave Lehr, chief strategy officer for Meritus Health. “Bringing orthopedic specialists to our team is a wonderful opportunity to expand Meritus Health’s team of providers. We are so pleased to have this valuable, well-established team of medical professionals join us to further reach the needs of this community.”

In 2021, Meritus After Hours Pediatrics and Meritus Pulmonary Consultants came on board to help further integrate urgent and emergent health care needs and pulmonary and sleep medicine for patients in the tristate region.

“It is becoming more important than ever to have easy access to the specialty and chronic care that is needed by so many of our neighbors,” said Lehr. “An integrated health care system puts the patient’s needs at the center. Together, our multidisciplinary teams coordinate care plans for their patients, using one central patient record. By working together in this approach, communication about the patient’s care plan, treatment recommendations and ongoing management of their conditions becomes more concise, efficient and effective. These partnerships are truly better for the patient’s overall experience.”

The team of orthopedic providers in Robinwood Professional Center will continue to offer services in the current suites of 205, 209 and 211 at the Purple entrance, as well as on 187 Thomas Johnson Drive, Suite 1, in Frederick, Md.

“Our center’s long history of caring and deep commitment to this community make it an ideal partner for Meritus Health, which has been serving the community for more than a century itself,” says Scott Worrell, M.D., provider at the orthopedic center. “Patients who come to us will continue to receive the all-inclusive, quality care for all ages they’ve come to expect.”

Lehr said the growth, which is closely aligned with need, is important.

“We are thrilled to continue on our path of understanding the needs of our neighbors and working together with strong partners to support them,” he said.
