Meritus Health Administers 35,000 COVID-19 Vaccines; Prepares for State Waitlist and Mass Vaccination Site
About 60 percent of Washington County residents 65 and older have received at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, many as part of the nearly 35,000 COVID-19 vaccines administered at the clinic in Robinwood Professional Center in the last two months.
During this process, a vaccine appointment request form was provided through MeritusHealth.com to generate a waitlist of community seniors interested in receiving the shots. With the recent announcement by the state of Maryland to launch its own official waitlist and plans for a mass vaccination site in Washington County, additional vaccine appointment request form submissions will be suspended effective Friday, March 12, in the late afternoon.
“We have contacted everyone on our existing waitlist to try and schedule as many residents 65 and older interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine,” says Carrie Adams, Pharm.D., chief quality and transformation officer of Meritus Health. “We remain committed to offering vaccines to our community as the supply we receive from the state allows, following Maryland guidelines for who qualifies for the shots, but encourage everyone to look for updates on the mass vaccination site registration through local and state media sources in the coming weeks.”
