Meritus Health’s Cancer Center Officially Welcomes Patients through New Entrance
Meritus Health’s John R. Marsh Cancer Center opened doors Monday, Jan. 18, into a new patient entrance decorated by local artists to help provide a sense of calm during a vulnerable time.
The construction includes a covered drop-off area for patients coming to the cancer center, a family welcome center, registration area, new waiting space for patients arriving for radiation treatment, four individual dressing rooms and three consultation rooms. The area is the beginning of renovation and redesign coming to the center in the coming months.
Unique pieces of art can be seen throughout the new space, including blown-glass plates, metal ribbons and birds mounted on the ceiling, brushed aluminum wall prints, a metal sculpture of cattails and reeds that you might find in a marsh and even glass leaves created by an infusion patient.
