Meritus Health Information Technology Team Recognized For Performance Excellence

Press Releases

Meritus Health was recently recognized for performance excellence in digital health for effectively applying advanced information technologies into its clinical and business programs to improved health care in the community. The Most Wired recognition was given by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) during its annual assessment survey of more than 30,000 organizations.

Meritus Health was also “certified” as a level nine for its overall performance in the eight areas scored – infrastructure, security, business/disaster recovery, administrative/supply chain, analytics/data management, population health, patient engagement and quality/safety. Level 10 is the highest achievable level.

“Being recognized in the top 90% of all hospitals with a performance excellence award is a great achievement for the Meritus Health IT team,” says Jason Cole, vice president and chief information officer for Meritus Health. “The team has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into the health system’s overall security, infrastructure and our Epic electronic health records (EHR) system during the last three years. Meritus Health will continue to leverage technology in support of improving the community’s overall health and access to care.”

The mission of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired program is to elevate the health and health care of communities around the world through the optimal use of information technology, by recognizing health care organizations that exemplify best practices to raise the quality within their businesses and ultimately in the industry as a whole.
