Advanced Surgical Technology Now at Meritus Medical Center

A new team member recently joined the Meritus Medical Center’s minimally invasive surgery program – the Da Vinci XI®. This advanced technology offers surgical patients less pain, quicker healing time and enhanced recovery from their procedures.

Initially, the Da Vinci XI® will be used to support bariatric, gynecologic, urologic and general surgeries. Five surgeons on the medical staff are currently trained to use the new system.

Brooke Buckley, M.D., FACS, vice president and chief medical officer of Meritus Health, noted that the addition of this technology to the program allows the organization to recruit and retain long-term surgical staff members, help the hospital grow its market share in the region and improve quality and reduce total cost to treat patients.

The Da Vinci XI® was officially unveiled to business and community leaders at a reception Wednesday, Jan. 15.
