Meritus Health Encourages Telehealth, E-Visits as Screening Center Hours Reduce
Meritus Health’s drive-thru screening center at 13620 Crayton Blvd., behind Meritus Medical Plaza, is reducing its weekend hours to 11 a.m.-3 p.m. both Saturdays and Sundays. Hours for weekdays will remain 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
A walk-thru screening center at 24 N. Walnut St., remains open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Before visiting either screening center, patients should first be directed there by his/her primary care provider, a health care professional answering the COVID-19 care line – 301-790-9170 or a physician or provider through a telehealth visit or e-visit.
Meritus Medical Group is now offering electronic visits (e-visits) for current patients through MyChart. An e-visit can replace a clinic appointment or certain urgent care visits. E-visits should only be used for non-urgent medical conditions. You can request your e-visit by visiting Mychart.meritushealth.com and logging in to your existing account.
Anyone who is not currently connected with a health care provider in the community may access telehealth visits, a new service that offers an electronic telehealth appointment to discuss COVID-19 or other general health concerns. To request a telehealth visit, please complete the form located on MeritusHealth.com. (https://www.meritushealth.com/patients-visitors/covid-19-telehealth-visits/)
The drive-thru and walk-thru screening centers are the only Meritus locations where COVID-19 screening is taking place. No COVID-19 screening is available at any Meritus Health outpatient medical practice, including Meritus Urgent Care, or at the quick care clinic in the tents located outside of the emergency department of Meritus Medical Center. The emergency department should be used for life-threatening, emergent situations only.
Updated screening criteria, including symptom and age requirements for those eligible for testing, can be found at https://www.meritushealth.com/patients-visitors/public-notice/
