Prime Time for Women and Meritus Health collaborate on “Walking to Wellness Wednesdays”

Prime Time for Women and Meritus Health are collaborating on a new program, “Walking to Wellness Wednesdays,” to introduce the community to new physicians who are a part of Meritus Health’s new Family Medicine Residency Program, and to share information and tips for healthy living.

The events will take place the first Wednesday of each month at 12:15 p.m. at Robinwood Medical Center’s atrium, 11110 Medical Campus Road east of Hagerstown.

On Oct. 2, Prime Time for Women host Bernadette Wagner introduced Dr. Olaoye Jegede via a Facebook Live event. Jegede, a new physician with the Meritus Health Family Medicine Residency Program, spoke about hypertension and the health benefits of regular walking. Jegede, who was joined by five members of the Family Medicine team, then led a 30-minute walk throughout Robinwood Medical Center.

Dr. Aaron George, director of medical education said: “It was wonderful to meet community members. I walked with one person who talked about her art and then shared a picture of one of her sketches. It’s different than meeting patients in the office, it’s an opportunity to connect on a different level.”

Dr. Jegede’s talk can be viewed at Prime Time for Women’s Facebook Page.

Walking to Wellness Wednesdays are free and open to the public.
