Infant Loss Support Group Donates Angel Gowns to Hospital

HAGERSTOWN – A dozen angel gowns, as well as several smaller angel wraps were sewn and donated to nurses from Meritus Medical Center’s women’s and children’s services department as part of October’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

Pictured from left to right are Christine Caldwell, RN; Carol Grove, RN-BC; Brianne Bearese, founder and director of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness of Washington County or PAILA of WCMD, the support group making the donation; Evelyn Kloos, RN-C; Lori Sprecher, RN-C; and Jamie Campbell, RN, during the donation event.

Angel gowns and wraps are for babies who do not make it home from the hospital following their mothers’ miscarriage or stillbirth. The wraps are for babies too small and fragile for the gowns. All of the gowns and wraps are sewn together from the fabric of donated wedding dresses.
