Staff members were presented with a plaque to commemorate their efforts. Maryland is the only state to have 100-percent of its birthing hospitals earn banner recognition from the Maryland Patient Safety Center which recognizes the hospitals' commitment to reducing the number of elective inductions and cesarean deliveries performed before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy, giving more babies a healthy start in life.
