Free Stroke Risk Screenings

Community Events Event

A STROKE CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE, AT ANY TIME, AT ANY AGE.

YOU CAN REDUCE YOUR STROKE RISK

A stroke happens when an artery that carries oxygen to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or ruptures
(hemorrhagic stroke). When that happens, part of the brain cannot get the oxygen and blood it needs and starts to die. High blood pressure is the leading cause of stroke and the most important controllable risk factor. Know your stroke risk and the steps you can take to reduce your risk.

  • Every 40 seconds someone in the US has a stroke.
  • Stroke is the #5 cause of death in the United States, killing approximately 142,000 people a year.
  • 80% of strokes are preventable.

Join us on Tuesdays in May for free stroke screenings.
