What Can I Eat? Carbohydrate Counting Class

An interactive class designed to teach participants healthy eating basics with a focus on carbohydrates counting for diabetes management and weight control.

Topics include:

a.) identification of foods that contain carbohydrate

b.) carbohydrate intake goals (how much carbohydrate is appropriate to eat)

c.) how to tell how much carbohydrate is in food using food labels and other nutrition sources

d.) how to estimate (guess) the amount of carbohydrate is in foods using the fist/plate method when nutrition information is not available

The participants are left with a challenge to figure out how much carbohydrate they eat to enable them to explore how carbohydrates affect their blood sugar and to help with weight loss.
