Meritus celebrates 2023 nursing awards

Each month, we share a Daisy Award Honoree. The Daisy Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates clinical skill and compassion given by nurses every day. Honorees can be nominated by a patient, a patient’s family, visitors or other team members.

I honor of our Daisy Nurses, Meritus Medical Center unveiled a new statue of the Daisy symbol, ‘The Healer’s Touch.” The sculpture is a symbol of the relationship between a nurse and their patient. The origins of the sculpture are significant, and more details can be found here.

Also, in recognition of our nursing teams, during National Nurses Week 2023, the following were recognized for being the top in their field:

• Outpatient Nurse of the Year: Regan Thomas, RN

• School Health Critical Care Nurse of the Year: Rachael Rohrer, RN

• Clinical Support Staff of the Year: Jill Storer

• Daisy Team of the Year: 3 East

• Rookie of the Year: Adam Mowery, RN

• Clinical Nurse of the Year: Jamie Beachley, RN

• Clinical Nurse of the Year: Kimberly Johnson; Ashley Sites, BSN, RN, CNOR
