Samuel Chan, M.D. specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses in adults and adolescents. Board certified in internal medicine, he incorporates an understanding of wellness, mental health, medical ethics, women's health and geriatric health issues into his practice, providing a full range of primary care medical services to his patients for over fifteen years.

Dr. Chan was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and completed his residency in the United States at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Learning of the need for physicians in Washington County, he relocated to Hagerstown with his wife and two children and has been living here ever since.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland.

Dr. Chan is on the medical staff of Washington County Hospital and is also on the Board of Directors of Tri-State Health Partners. As a native Spanish speaking physician, Dr. Chan is able to serve the community's growing Spanish-speaking community. "Diversity is great for our community," he said. "Various cultures living together in one place allows for each of us to learn things from each other that we could never learn in any book."
