Making a donation The Auxiliary’s 2012 Tree of Lights campaign will raise money to purchase a LUCAS Chest Compression System for the emergency department. The American Hospital Association has put a renewed emphasis on CPR. The new standards stress 2” depth compressions at a rate of 100 per minute with no interruptions. Effective chest compressions deliver vital oxygen to the brain and can prime the heart for a successful defibrillation shock. Maintaining sufficient coronary perfusion pressure during cardiac arrest improves the likelihood of return of spontaneous circulation. However, as any rescuer or caregiver knows, performing manual CPR according to the AHA guidelines is difficult and tiring at best, and virtually impossible as the resuscitation effort continues over time to 10, 20, 30 minutes or longer. The LUCAS Chest Compression System is designed to deliver uninterrupted compressions at a consistent rate and depth to meet the AHA guidelines and facilitate the return of spontaneous circulation. LUCAS facilitates good blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain, organs, and tissues from the moment it is turned on and continues throughout the entire resuscitation effort, helping to improve the patient’s change for a successful outcome.
A gift of $500 will place a light in the Circle of Lights at the top of the tree. A gift of $100 will provide a Life Light to be lit annually. A gift of $50 purchases one angel for the tree. A gift of $25 purchases one dove for the tree. A gift of $10 purchases one light for the tree. Donations, which are tax deductible, will be accepted through December 31, 2011. Tree lighting ceremony Sunday, December 12, 2012 We hope to see you there!
